THE HATRACK

WHAT IS THE HATRACK?

The HatRack is one of the most important ways that Women’s Action Network gives back to the community. The HatRack provides hats, wigs, and scarves – free of charge – to anyone who is undergoing chemotherapy and suffering hair loss due to other disease or treatment. The HatRack serves both men and women. It is made available by fundraising efforts of WAN, community donations, along with grant funds received by the Greenville Area Community Foundation.

Client Survey Response
My sister and I stopped at the hat rack yesterday. I was impressed with the help provided and fitting for a wig. You had such a nice selection of wigs hats and scarves. Thank you for this great service.
We are so fortunate to have the services available in our area and feel there is a great need for them being here as well. It means enough to me that I can am considering volunteering there as well. The other thing that I find is they offer a wide variety of things which clients may be able to use and to help lift their spirits during wherever their journey is taking them.
It made me feel like someone cares, thank you.
The hat rack meant so much to me at a time when I can hardly think this is happening to me. My mind is so full of medical things in chemo and Define the service so close to home for free was a god-sent sign to me. Thank you for your service to our community.
It is devastating when you learn that you have cancer. And then to learn that hair loss would come from chemotherapy treatments is another adjustment. Then I learned about The HatRack, supported by Women’s Action Network, that is right here in our own community. Having a comfortable and private place to be services was really important to me.You have offered me wigs, scarves, hats and whatever else I need to make me more comfortable during this time of transition. The staff was so helpful in meeting my needs. Never before going through anything like this, they answered my questions and gave me good advice. I can’t thank you enough for the service you provide. Please continue to support the cancer patient in our area. I will certainly spread the word to those in need.
I think what they are doing at The HatRack is a blessing to people who are going through what I have been going through. This has helped in so many ways.
